About the Event

Double header: two talks in one meeting!

Whether it is cells or famines, sometimes as we learn new, more accurate information, it takes us some time to think through the implications and actually begin to believe it.  We may feel that everything which makes up our worldview is accurate, but sometimes we are challenged because we find that not to be true. Often we will be somewhat resistant to change our worldview.

Two topics with newer, more accurate information will be presented.  One on cells, with an emphasis on when you were just your first cell.  The science of genes and so much more has rapidly advanced in the past 20 years. The second topic is archaeological and climatology information showing the two famines of Joseph in Egypt (remember the 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine) and Jacob in Israel which were occurring at the same time, but from different causes.

In both presentations there are implications for your personal life.  For example....aging!

Don was a botanist with game research for 2 years and then a law enforcement officer (Conservation Officer) with the DNR for 33 years.
